Had a new water heater installed and I was not getting hot water. Called and got the run around. Eventually a manager said they would send someone out the next day.
Dylan B arrive and it took him about 3 hours of troubleshooting. Apart from everything he kept saying I want to make sure you're happy. He eventually found the problem (not anything they did wrong wirh the install) and resolved it.
He didnt only focus on if there was an issue with the tank but made sure when he left I was happy. Apart from everything that transpired I couldn't have ask for a better resolution from Dylan.

He took the time to explain the condition of our furnace, HRV, AC, and water heater, performed detailed inspections and testing, and answered all our questions clearly and professionally. Dylan B. Is the superb technician who was assigned to find out why our furnace had no heat. He discovered that two wires had been touching and that caused a short as well as a failed contactor which he replaced. Dylan was professional and knowledgeable throughout repair process.

Great job by James Himes on our Furnace and A/C maintenance. He explained all in detail and we were impressed by the great service.
Karim did a great job. He came out to do a maintenance check on my furnace. He explained everything in detail, he wasn't in a rush, explained the parts, how everything works, filters etc. Great information as I had numerous questions and he answered them all, and at a very reasonable price for the time he spent here. Very impressed.

James Himes explained everything to me very clearly and told what to expect in the future for my equipment, he was polite, easy to understand and gave me great advice on caring for my HVAC system. We want to thank Chris B coming to our home to discuss the possibility of getting a new furnace and air conditioner. From the moment we met Chris, we felt very comfortable. Chris is very professional, he definitely knows all about the products and gave us expert advice. In our opinion, Chris is definitely an asset to Handy Bros.
Started out on the wrong foot with some issues with the install after reaching out to support I got it resolved, Many thanks to Nicholas the technician who went above and beyond to prove they really do support there service. He listened to my concern and rectified all the issues and did it pleasantly and did a top notch job.

Had someone come out to quote us on a furnace and AC unit. He told me that they could install a tankless water heater "no problem" because I was curious about it being added on to our bill. So when I had other companies come out they laughed and said that he was lying because they would have to bust up our entire back yard concrete to do so.
He was very passionate about his job but he texted me 2 days later on a Monday night at NINE THIRTY PM asking "Hey. Should I close this account?" Me and my fiance both told him we would need a few days to a week to decide because this is a big decision. Following that day he texted me 3 times throughout the week wondering if we had made a decision yet.
I get that you want the sale. But that is terrible sales tactics. It felt very pressing and very unprofessional. I am in sales and do not text people at 9:30 pm on a Monday night asking if they are going to buy or not.

Fast friendly service from Jonathan
Spent 1800$+ to fix the ac then they said it would be another 800+ after they fixed it to charge the lines and look for a small leak . The whole time suggesting I get a new monthly payment and brand new a. To replace my unit that was only 8 years old.

Quick same day service. Pre-paid for an A/C diagnostic visit. Ended up being a simple drain issue but James Himes the tech did a full inspection complete with detailed report. He discussed options for future repairs and potential issues. He identified my Capacitor was running under spec and brought me up to speed with the current issues with AC repair and the newer gas types coming out. Highly recommend doing some research into 410a 454b 32b gas types.
I appreciated the detailed walkthrough and the recommendations provided. James was very personable and polite. Handy Bros likes to try to sell you on a home comfort plan so be prepared to look at a few brochures could be worth it if you don't like doing things yourself.

The HB Family Plan Maintenance Membership is the best choice I've made as a first time home buyer. I'm left worry free knowing Handy Bro's is a call away if I need help and the benefits of being on the plan pays for it's self every year as it covers 2 bi-annual tune ups per year. I've had Spencer S and Dylan B come in and provide maintenance. Each time they've not only been thorough but extremely knowledgeable about HVAC and answered any questions that I have. I've recommended Handy Bros to anyone willing to listen and needing help with their HVAC units. If your debating whether to do the program, get it. You won't regret being apart of the family.

Bryan and his crew did a fantastic job installing my new heat pump, gas furnace, and tankless water heater. They were very professional, explained everything about the install clearly and left everything neat and tidy after the install. I also want to thank Handy Bros very much for getting my new AC up and running so quickly after my old 29 year old unit failed during the recent heat wave. We're very happy!

They were very well experienced in installing a tankless water heater. They did a very clean professional job. They layed down carpets so they didn't have to remove their shoes each time they went to the truck for parts. They were very friendly and explained what they were doing when asked questions. Edit: 5 months later we had the first maintenance inspection/tuneup. Tyelor was friendly and extremely thorough, much more in depth than I had anticipated. He even brought me a coffee, so there's that. No regrets.

We had an excellent experience with Johnathan from HandyBros. He serviced our furnace, heat pump, hot water tank and air system, and was professional and thorough from start to finish.
Johnathan called ahead to let me know when he would arrive. He was even thoughtful enough to ask if I wanted anything from Tim Hortons while he was passing by—and he brought me a tea!
After completing the work, he took the time to walk me through everything and showed me before-and-after pictures of the service. Johnathan is a very knowledgeable, considerate and thoughtful technician.

I’ve had nothing but great experiences with Handy Bros every time they’ve come to my home for furnace service and inspections. Every technician I’ve dealt with has been friendly, knowledgeable, educational, and genuinely helpful. I really appreciate that they give honest opinions and explain my options without ever making me feel pressured into a decision I’m not comfortable with.
That was especially important when my old furnace finally gave out and I had to go through the process of replacing it. I always felt like I was being given the information I needed to make the right decision for my home, rather than being pushed toward something.
A special shoutout to Dylan, who has been out to my place twice now. Both times he made the visit enjoyable (and entertaining!) with his sense of humor, while still being incredibly respectful of my home. He’s thorough, takes the time to explain things, and makes sure every box is checked before he heads out the door.

Very impressed with the level of professionalism and quick service. After my a/c went out on Sunday June 14th, I was able to get someone in by Monday morning and have my a/c,furnace and heatpump installed by early afternoon Tuesday. The advisor was very helpful and was able to explain to me all the different options I had and did not try to push anything on me like other companies. The installation team was very professional as well and very respectful of the property and myself. Being a fairly new home owner and having dealt with a few different companies already and having continued issues, I’m glad I was able find a company with great values to the costumer and over all a great team.I’m glad to be with handy bros for the forceable future.
Updating a furnace and replacing a broken AC is a daunting task with its fair share of anxiety. Of the companies that we invited to pitch us their products, Martin and Handy Bros spent the most time with us and gave a very comprehensive description including options and competitive pricing. Both my wife and I felt Handy Bros was the way to go. The install came only 2 days later on a very hot day. Jesse and George arrived on time and immediately got to work. They were professional, diligent, very efficient and overcame obstacles like true craftsmen. They explained how everything worked and even showed me how to operate the thermostat. After clean up they were off to their next job. We want to thank Martin, Jesse, George and the rest of the Handy Bros staff for a wonderful installation experience.

Ridiculously High Quote – Shop Around First! I contacted Handy Bros to get a service and repair quote for my elderly moms Air Conditioner Unit. The issue was a failed capacitor. The technician was professional and very thorough during the inspection, but the final estimate was completely unreasonable. They quoted me $1,200 for a repair on top of the $160 service call charge. When I asked for a breakdown and better explanation of the parts and labor, the explanations felt overly technical and padded with unnecessary fees. They also advised me of the very high potential of a secondary visit with an additional repair bill of $2,300+ for a fault 72 code. This lead to discussions of; if it was worth the repairs or to just replace the unit, where they happily booked me for a consultation on that cost. I decided to get a second opinion from another local area company. The second company diagnosed the exact same issue and fixed it perfectly for $236 including their service call charge —saving me $1,124 for the exact same part and issue being repaired. They were also very confident that the unit is in great working condition and the chances further repairs due to the fault code 72 were not required as the new capacitor corrected that code. I understand businesses need to make a profit, but the markup here felt like an attempt to take advantage of a customer in a tough spot. I highly recommend getting a second or third quote before agreeing to any work with Handy Bros. This can save you thousands of dollars!

David and Omar were an excellent installation team, showing up promptly as promised, doing a professional install and ensuring we understood the system before they left. I had a question the following day, and received prompt and helpful support from the in office team. Excellent all round. Highly recommended!
From beginning to the end everyone involved were east to talk to. Cooper our salesperson , Carolynne and Tammy from customer service.Tony and Ben were very polite, courteous and professional. Everything was explained what they were there to do. They made sure they covered the area they were working on with blankets and cardboard. Tony asked where the water and breaker box were to shut them off while they worked. They did a great job. Once they were done the work Tony explained how everything worked and he even helped set up our thermostat to wifi. They cleaned up after they were done the work. I am happy with the work that they did.

Excellent service from start to finish. Booked the appointment over text-the tech contacted me prior to arriving-even offered to bring me a Timmie's. All procedures were explained completely. My ducts had not been cleaned in the life of the house, and were filthy. That young man worked hard, and did an excellent job. There were before and after pics, and each room was left as he found it. Highly recommend.

Excellent overall experience. From first phone call to the help line on Friday afternoon then Duncan was out 1.5 hours later and gave me options on replacing the hot water tank. Originally schedule to replace Monday morning but moved up to Saturday morning. Replaced and running within 2 hours by Doug and Mark. Less than 24 hours from finding leak to having a new tank with hot water.

Changing my rating from 5 to 3 stars, everything was great until the Air duct guy came and did a horrible job. It blew sand all over my bed. I complained to handy Brose about it. Nothing got done. They offered to come back and redo it. I said no because it traumatized my cats. It was loud. It was noisy. It was stinky. I got a smart thermostat with my package and said that I would get a rebate for $1400 and they don’t send it out to union gas so be prepared to have to call Handy Bros multiple times to have it sorted and dealt with. Also, if you refer people to handy Bros they don’t keep their promise on referrals so just keep an eye out for that one all I can say why I’m three stars is because the gentleman who did come to install the furnace air conditioner, the tankless water tank and the smart thermostat. All three guys that came to my home were amazing. They were clean. They were nice and understandable but as far as everything else is concerned, I would not recommend handy Brose.

I don't often write reviews, but this company definitely deserves one. I called them to tell them that my heat wasn't coming on, and they came out on an evening service call. I loved the correspondence on my cell phone letting me know their eta plus a picture of the technician, Karim, they were sending. Karim arrived at scheduled time and was extremely polite, respectful and knowledgeable about my furnace. He found the issue, repaired it and went above and beyond by checking things to make sure all is safe and well - basically doing a maintenance assessment. It's so great to know companies like this still exist with sincere caring and not just about "business." I need to credit Lori who was my first contact when I called the London Ontario office. So much empathy and concern for me while my house was getting colder. She also went above and beyond. Carolynne who did a follow up text and called me. Handy Bros, I have a comment for you. Both Adam & Noah were extremely respectful and polite and they make you feel like family when dealing with your home and furnace. The technician was polite and communicative, however only one of two issues with my boiler was diagnosed, this would be okay if I wasn’t ultimately I was quoted over $900 for a strange solution instead of the virtually nothing it costs to bridge 2cm of wire (24v, 50ma, no soldering) and not solve the problem with the plumbing. Fundamentally, their pricing is predatory for the small stuff, and you will be upsold like every other home comfort company.

The installation crew showed up on time they cleaned up afterwards, they explained everything that was needed to be explained, they made sure it was all running properly, I would highly recommend them for installation. They did a great job. What I was a little disappointed in was the sales rep failed to mention the size of the water filter the fact that the piping had to go across the basement ceiling that the water filter needed a plug and a couple other things but overall, I’m very happy thus far it’s the first day of installation and it’s only been a few hours since I’ve had all the equipment. Let’s hope the positive experience continues for another 30 something years.

I can’t recommend Handy Bros enough. My furnace went out during an extreme cold AND on the weekend of course. From start to finish they made the process quick and easy. I called to schedule a technician and he was there as soon as I was available, Cole did a thorough inspection, tried to troubleshoot, then helped me book a consultation for a new furnace. Duncan then spent his entire Sunday morning walking me through all the options, never making me feel pressured or rushed. He even got my fireplace to work so I had heat, and brought extra space heaters. He then booked a team to come in the next morning, and checked in on us that day. The team installing were fantastic, they worked a long day and had great customer service from start to finish. They also took time to educate us on the new system, and cleaned up so thoroughly that it looked like they weren’t even there. I called Handybros because my furnace was acting up occasionally, though I had never had prior issues. The technician spent almost two hours inspecting it and tagged it as unsafe, giving me 42 days to repair it and pushing for a new furnace—especially after I mentioned I was a single mother managing homeownership alone.
I got a second opinion, and the other company found no issues with my furnace. They fixed a minor rusting issue, replaced parts for free, and confirmed that problems identified by the Handybros technician did not exist.

Our experience has been wonderful. The customer service is second to none. From my frantic phone call where I spoke to Dawn who put my mind at ease and told me to shut the furnace off( it was smoking at the time)and sent in a request right away to have Kris come out and look at it.
Kris gave me a couple options and we decided on a new furnace instead of bandaging our old one. Not a great time to lose heat on the coldest week of the winter but its nice to know that they care about there customers and have given us what I feel is top priority due to us not having heat.
I would definitely recommend them !

Installation went through smoothly. Coldest time of the year to have old furnace failure. We appreciate the quick response in getting the furnace replaced. New furnace works well.
Had a great experience with the handy bros workers that came in and installed my new tankless water heater and new furnace they did an awesome job and cleaned up the mess afterwards to a point that it looked like no one was there at all looks amazing very impressed. Not so impressed with the sales person that I had that had some choice words that led us to believe that the issue with not having any hot water would be fixed by replacing our old out dated water heater with a brand new one which in fact did not fix the issue with not having any hot water (which I haven’t had since Saturday January 24th) and was told to just call a plumber after already spending over $10,000 trying to fix the issue that still hasn’t been resolved. But still 5 stars on the guys that installed the equipment they walked me through how everything worked (aside from not knowing why I still don’t have hot water) and explained everything thoroughly.
James was very professional, courteous and took the time to investigate and explain everythkng thoroughly.
We were tired of renting our water heater. It’s only getting older and the rental is only getting more expensive. We called Handy Bros and they gave us a good option for a tankless water heater and we’re happy to have it with a very decent warranty too. Best of all, it’s ours. It’s not gonna sit in our basement for 16 years costing us more and more money while we argue to get it replaced or serviced. We could have bought a few water heaters by now. I contacted Handy Bros. For emergency services relating to gas lines. Right from the beginning the first person I spoke with was kind and ready to help. The technician Andrew, arrived quickly to my home and was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Showing me areas of concern with a knowledgeable explanation. We met with Comfort Advisor Kayla shortly after and the excellent service continued. Kayla was knowledgeable and explained everything to ensure we felt comfortable in our decision. Despite this being an emergency call we did not feel pressured to commit to any work. We chose to continue with Handy Bros. services due to the fast, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Handy Bros stands out in this industry by taking customer service and workmanship to new levels. I had an issue (furnace wouldn’t shut off, house became like a sauna), and they sent someone to fix it at 10pm to ensure my family’s comfort. Consistently responsive and friendly. White glove service that is rare nowadays. And their employees seem to enjoy working for the company. After all the positive experiences, I decided to give them my business for a large electrical panel and circuit upgrade and signed up for their membership plan. Great customer care still exists.

A wonderful experience with Handy Bros following a problem with our heating system. A technician was sent within a few hours and was able to diagnose the problem. As a HVAC technician, I know for a fact Do not buy a York from these guys. They’ll tell you that it’s good but your systems always leak air conditioners always leak like a sieve and the furnace always has flame sensor issues as an HVAC technician. I recommend never to buy a York. I bet you any money the salesman will say that the York’s are the best but I’m a technician. I say they suck. I see the issues every day.

Got a quote from Handy Bros, which was very high relative to the other companies in the area (big and small companies). Initially, the salesperson tried to justify the price by citing that MAY need to be done, for example, increasing my gas lines (citing the diameter, which was incorrect).
It is also worth noting that all of the numbers provided and the justification were given before they had even looked at my basement set-up.
Since then, they have called me three times to let me know different reasons why the price is going to go up, and I just make a decision (classic sales tactics). One of the times, the mentioned government incentives are going away (which didn't apply anyway), and more recently, it is blaming tariffs for "future" price inflation.
Wasn't going to go with them anyway, but I was never planning on leaving a negative review; However, their relentless sales tactics warrant me sharing my experience.

I don't usually write 5 star reviews. But based on my recent experience with Handy Bros and the employee by the name of Nick, we were very pleased and satisfied with his work. He was very professional, friendly and accommodating. He explained everything to us and answered all our questions. We have had issues with our air conditioner for the last few months. A number of other companies came and attempted to diagnose the problem. We paid for the diagnostics with them, but it was a waste of time and money. Many of them didn't know what they were doing and just wanted us to buy a new air conditioner. These companies are M&K and Reliance. Nick did an amazing job on repairing our air conditioner. It works like new now. The best part is that he was able to fix it on the same day in a few short hours in one service call. I also had the pleasure of speaking with 2 employees on the phone who were also very helpful. I shopped around calling 6 different companies and Handy Bros. gave me the best experience on the phone. The employees I spoke to on the phone were very knowledgeable, unlike the other companies I spoke to. If we need any more work done in our house that has to do with heating, cooling and pluming, Handy Bros.will be the first ones we will call and give them our business. Handy Bros. and Nick have been a godsend for us in keeping us nice and cool for the rest of the summer season. Thanks so much for your help. We are forever grateful to you Nick and Handy Bros.

Handy Bros is a great company. The professionalism, from the start, sales, customer service, loan processing, & installation are very much appreciated. They practically held my hand through out the whole process so I didn’t have any thing to worry about. This company is not just very “handy” but very reliable & honest as well.
Handy Bros. is amazing! Discovered a leak in our HVAC unit on Sunday. Called them Monday afternoon, and they arrived Monday evening to fix the issue. It was just a clogged drain, but Cole fixed the issue promptly and then completed a full inspection of both the furnace and ducts inside and the AC unit outside. We were then connected to a salesman who arrived the following night who discussed options for a new system. We are currently awaiting the installation of a new furnace and heat pump. Financing options make the system very affordable, and the extras that are included are fantastic (Included Ecobee thermostat, duct cleaning, etc.). They also service water heaters, which is an added bonus, as it is one less person to contact if something breaks or needs to be upgraded.

Handy Bros recently installed our new heat pump, furnace and hot water system. They were very thorough and professional and did an excellent job. We had them come back to do a duct cleaning and the tech, Jon, was extremely thorough, cleaned up well, explained what he would do and showed us before and after photos. Our house feels cooler now. We highly recommend Handy Bros. Everything has been a positive experience, and they were even fantastic when we had some minor issues to work out.

I struggle to understand how wanting someone to take accountability for issues caused by Jerry rigging equipment up to old pipes and parts as confirmed by a different company is a reason to not meet with a client. By being assertive that these are issues that need to be addressed I was labeled as hostile (despite no raised voices, cursing, or insults) and all dealings going forward finished. Membership canceled and refunded.(not that we had any intention of continuing service with them). Initial rebate never paid out. I would have had no issue changing my review had they actually meet with us and taken any type of ownership for issues caused. Highly recommend you save your money and sanity by using a different company

I called as my AC was not working and Chris came the following day. In a little over an hour and a half, he had my AC working, thankfully as we are in a heat wave with outside temps at 33-34C. Super nice guy, really efficient. Thank you Handy Bros.

Was having problems with my mother's thermostat & happened to see Handy Bros.service vehicle parked out front so I ran out flagged him over & figured I get the same old make an appointment, this young employee come& helped us without hesitation, tell me when that happens anywhere. Totally respect that technician & Handy Bros.
I had Handy Bros come to service my hot water tank. Their technician Matt was very friendly and polite. He explained in great detail his findings of what he believed to be the defective part. He did not try to upsell or persaude me in any way just provided his findings.
When he was finished he was kind enough to call his office to make arrangements for a sales person to come to my home to provide an estimate for a new tank.
When he left he thanked me for having him into our home. I’ve never had a service person thank me for inviting them into my home.

My wife and I are relatively new to the Chatham area and have been using Handy Bros for our home comfort issues. Today we replaced our rental hotwater heater from a different company who were not easy to deal with. Handy Bros. continues to delight. A strong team of skilled, knowledgeable and extremely personable sales and technicians. Opinions are great to have and share to inform customers trying to understand the space. The work is always completed to expectations or beyond very tidy and well organized and focused on both form and function. We added a heat pump in addition our HVAC but the original installer wasn’t super onboard with them and set default settings to favour furnace. Maybe just a personal preference but we made our adjustments and it’s working out very well. We just had our first service and Dylan did a fantastic job. Very quick, very helpful, and a very friendly. Overall a delightful experience. The mobile app needs work. We have scheduled appointments a couple times and never received call back. It is buggy from time to time.

Very impressive service and communication. Reliance was giving me the run around and not returning calls or setting up appointments they kept saying we're being set up, Handy Bros came in and were able to provide exactly what I needed (with a quote even something reliance wouldn't even provide) and didn't try to just upsell or provide services I didn't want or ask for.

Very quick attention to our dilemma, Handy Bros worked diligently to come out and quote a new tankless water heater, for free, the morning ours started leaking. The personel were knowledgeable, kind, courteous and attentive to all our questions and concerns. They emailed the quote with all the details, were available for all our questions as well. Once we chose to go with Handy Bros, they booked us in as a priority, to have our new tankless installed 24 hrs later. They called prior to arriving and started working right away, didn't stop till the job was complete and cleaned up. Karim, form Handy Bros came to do the maintenance check on our furnace. He was prompt and friendly. He did the check and then explained everything to us. Our HVAC system is only 4 months old, but it was still important for us to do our regular maintenance on our system as the furnace had not been used yet. We also had a heat pump installed which is why the furnace has not been used yet. He set our humidifier to the appropriate setting for winter. He advised us about running the furnace fan to help keep the house at a more consistent and comfortable temperature, so he showed us how to do this on our smart thermostat. He later explained everything he did in the check and took pictures. I'm very impressed with Handy bros. They truly are a very caring, knowledgeable and professional company and highly recommend them. It was Handy Bros that installed our new HVAC system and we are saving about 30% on our hydro bill which is amazing!!. Thank you Handy Bros for being such a great and professional company.

They fixed an ongoing issue with my fireplace, came out on the weekend whereas the original installer wouldn't. The cost was less than I expected, quality of work excellent. Highly recommended.

Kyle knew right away what needed to be done to fix the furnace. We had accidentally put the filter in incorrectly. Kyle not only fixed the furnace within two hours, he also explained how it would be to our benefit to get power surge protection on our furnace, air conditioner, and electrical box. It was timely that we agreed to get it as our house has been struck by lightning in the past. Kyle was able to install the protectors the same afternoon. He was courteous, well-spoken, and very experienced and knowledgeable. Handy Brothers were able to help us the next afternoon after we called. We appreciate their service and prmptness. Additionally they have a great payment plan. We look forward to getting our machines serviced twice a year now on their member program. Well done Handy Brothers!

Despite the discussions around our needs, in the end we were not given a solution to the huge temperature difference between the upstairs and downstairs and it’s notably worse now. Downstairs is cold while the bedrooms upstairs are suffocatingly hot. Of course the work needed to be done regardless, but we have been miserable ever since.

Very thorough technician when examing my furnace. He showed me pictures of my furnace and as it it only 2.5 hrs old he didn't find anything wrong with it. I like the fact that they sent a picture of the technician coming out to my house, so I knew who the technician was before he arrived. Feels safer. Very reliable and dependable company to do business with.
Annual maintenance by technician was very professional. There were a couple of additional suggestions for enhancements to our HVAC equipment, mainly around surge protection and stainless steel burners (versus steel). We have had some experience with both in the past. At this stage in our lives it’s good to know we have a trusted partner.

Mike did a fantastic job found a loose spade on furnace and repaired it did thorough cleaning and advised us that certain other items need ti be done. As for the credits offered have yet to receive them . I would like Mike back in the spring for the air conditioner prep.

Everything about this AC/furnace/tankless water heater installation was perfect from the initial consultation and the set up of the energy audit to the removal of the old equipment and installation of the new. We could not be happier. Victoria in the office handled all our questions efficiently and promptly. The three installers were very knowledgeable and polite. I cannot believe how quickly they work.
